Eovaldi was on pace for a career year in 2023 with a 2.69 ERA and 1.01 WHIP through 19 starts, but he went down with a forearm strain in late July that sidelined him for about six weeks. He returned in September but allowed 21 runs over 20.2 frames in his final six outings of the regular season, though he got back on track in the playoffs with a 2.95 ERA to help Texas win its first World Series. The right-hander finished with a 3.63 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 132:47 K:BB over 144 innings for the campaign, which was a minor improvement on his results from the previous three seasons. Eovaldi has established himself as a solid mid-rotation pitcher over the past few years but still has durability questions, having topped 150 innings just once since 2016. Read Past Outlooks
