DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

The Friday focus in college basketball shifts to the Atlantic-10, as Saint Louis travels to Richmond in a face-off between two teams looking to solidify their tournament resumes. It's part of a five-game DraftKings slate tonight, with the $12 Heating Up contest being highlighted with a top prize of $2,000 and a 7 p.m. EST start time.

Targets

Jordan Goodwin, G/F, Saint Louis ($8,700 DK)

Saint Louis has several players that should exceed expectations tonight, as they face off with a Richmond squad that ranks just seventh in the Atlantic-10 in defensive efficiency. Goodwin has met this salary expectation in four of his last five games, including two 50+ point fantasy games. His contributions in a variety of categories give him a great floor, as he's posted 12 double-double's this season and his 1.16 fantasy points per minute is in the upper echelon of collegiate production.

Jaden Ivey, G, Purdue ($5,800 DK)

Since entering the starting lineup Jan. 22 against Michigan, Ivey has outperformed this salary in 5-of-7 games. There's no reason to think he slows down tonight against Penn State -- a team that likes to push the tempo and hasn't put up much resistance defensively. Despite a slightly below-average salary, Ivey is a good bet for at least 30 minutes, and he's been very involved in the offense, taking over 28 percent of the team's shots when he's on the court.

Nathan Cayo, F, Richmond ($5,400 DK)

Cayo has been much more involved in the Spiders' offense lately and has responded with five straight double-digit scoring games. Surprisingly, his salary doesn't seem to have been adjusted for that considering he's met this salary in every game during that stretch. It's difficult to pass up someone in this salary range that may play close to 35 minutes while also being a significant contributor offensively. He's also efficient when called upon, shooting 57 percent from the field.

Fades

Jarrod West, G, Marshall ($9,000 DK)

Marshall has scored 80+ in five consecutive games, but it's hard to imagine that streak will continue against the Mean Green, considering they rank second in the Conference USA in terms of slowest tempo and overall defensive efficiency (per KenPom). That will make it difficult for the three Marshall players that are priced $8,000 or higher to all live up to their salary. I'll fade the most expensive of the three, with Taevion Kinsey getting the most minutes of the bunch and Andrew Taylor being more involved recently.

Quan Jackson, G, UAB ($7,100 DK)

Normally fading players against UTSA is a bad idea, but Jackson has been priced up $1,000 from his last game after dropping a career-high 28 points against Old Dominion. Since the start of conference play, he's been held under 20 fantasy points in half of his games. Meanwhile, teammate Tavin Lovan ($5,900) can be had much cheaper despite being more involved in the offense and being a more reliable shooter.

Izaiah Brockington, G/F, Penn St. ($6,600 DK)

Brockington is in quite a slump, having not put up 30 fantasy points in any of his last seven games. To make matters worse, he gets a matchup with the Boilermakers, who held him to 5-of-19 shooting while fouling out in their first meeting. Purdue's size and interior defense leads to a lot of three-point attempts, and if you're looking for a low-cost option in the game, Myles Dread ($4,800 DK) is averaging over two made per game.
