DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Top Players

Anthony Polite, G/F, Florida St. ($8,200 DK, $6,200 FD)

The Seminoles will have a much different looking team, with Polite being the only one of the four double-digit scoring players from last season to return. The fifth-year senior has plenty of experience and is ready for a larger role after shooting 50 percent last season while averaging 1.6 threes made per game. It's also a green-light matchup against a Penn team that doesn't figure to put up much of a fight defensively. He's a must-have on FanDuel with a $2,000 discount and gives roster flexibility on DraftKings being able to play both positions.

Marcus Williams, G, Texas A&M ($8,100 DK)

Williams transferred over to College Station after a stellar freshman season at Wyoming in which he averaged 14.8 ppg. Last year's leading scorer Emanuel Miller transferred to TCU, so Williams should be able to step into a workhorse role right away. He'll open with a great matchup against a North Florida squad that is on the second leg of a back-to-back after giving up a whopping 89 points to Texas Tech last night. Williams logged 30 minutes in A&M's long exhibition, tying a team-high with 13 points and contributing across the board with four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Middle Tier

Brandon Rush, G, Farleigh Dickinson ($6,000 DK, $5,500 FD)

It can be easy to overlook teams on the slate that are relatively unknown and large underdogs, but in GPPs that can create opportunities on players with low ownership percentages. Rush was the most efficient player for FDU last season, connecting on 48 percent of his field goals, including 42 percent from deep. Rush's .81 fantasy points per minute total from last season is really high for this price range, and he should be even more involved with the team's other two double-digit scorers from last year gone.

Moussa Diabate, F, Michigan ($5,600 DK, $4,200 FD)

Trying to find players to target on the Michigan side isn't an easy task tonight, as the starters are all expensive in a game where they're a 15-point favorite and may be sitting towards the end of the game. I'll pivot to Diabate, a five-star freshman who should see roughly equal playing time to starter Brandon Johns. He'll contribute across the stat sheet as a capable scorer and excellent rebounder and shot-blocker. Diabate tied a team-high with 14 points in the team's exhibition against Wayne State.

Values

Connor Kochera, G, William & Mary ($5,200 DK)

Kochera is the leading returning scorer for W&M, putting up 13.4 ppg in an impressive freshman campaign. He'll likely take on a bigger role this season with Luke Loewe's 13.2 field goals attempted per game being up for grabs. He provides plenty of upside, having recorded a pair of 25+ point games last year, especially against a Wake Forest team that is coming off a 6-16 season. At this price range he's incredibly difficult to pass up, as Kochera is a likely to see at least 30 minutes and also contributes on the glass.

Ronaldo Segu, G, Buffalo ($4,800 DK, $5,000 FD)

Looking to find some value in the Buffalo/Michigan game with it having the highest over/under on today's slate, I'll turn to the senior starter in Segu. It's not often you find someone in the sub-5k range that averaged 33 minutes and 13 points last season, but I suppose that's what happens when you're facing a stout opponent in Michigan. Nevertheless, Segu only needs 20 fantasy points to far exceed his salary projection, which should be doable with how many minutes he'll log.
