DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

College Basketball is in full swing with a massive 12-game Wednesday DraftKings slate that includes four games from the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and eight top-25 teams in action! The main contest on DraftKings is the $10 Big Jam with a $2,500 top prize, with FanDuel having a 10 game slate for their featured $7.77 All-American and $1,000 to first.

Top Players

Colin Castleton, F, Florida ($8,200 DK, $8,300 FD)

Castleton has been one of the most reliable fantasy options this season, as he's only been held under 30 fantasy points once. That occurred most recently against Troy in a contest in which he only played 22 minutes with the game being a blowout. He's shown himself to be matchup-proof, posting a double-double against Florida State and Ohio State, and has also posted a 50-point fantasy game. He can also give you points on the defensive end with 3.1 blocks per game.

Jordan Usher, G/F, Georgia Tech ($7,700 DK, $8,100 FD)

With the graduation of Georgia Tech's two leading scorers, Usher has seen an increased role in the offense this season, averaging 15.8 ppg. He's also been dominant on the glass with a team-high 8.7 rebounds per game and should have a great opportunity to record another double-double against a Wisconsin team that's shooting under 40 percent from the field. As good as the Badgers have been defensively, this is a tougher matchup for Michael Devoe against Johnny Davis, and Rodney Howard in the paint.

Middle Tier

Branden Carlson, F, Utah ($6,500 DK)

Carlson's efficiency has been extremely impressive this season, as the 7-footer is averaging a whopping 1.23 fantasy points per minute. Nobody has been able to slow him down thus far, as he's posted 13+ points in all six games along with a pair of double-doubles. Carlson and the Utes will face off against USC tonight, and the Trojans haven't been nearly as good defending the paint without Evan Mobley, giving up an 18 point, 10 rebound game to Ejike Obinna two games back.

Johnny Davis, G, Wisconsin ($6,100 DK, $8,600 FD)

Davis figures to be one of the chalkiest plays on the slate, but at this salary, he's a guy you have to roster. He's coming off a dominating performance in the Maui Invitational, winning the MVP on the strength of 23.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg. Davis has been the clear go-to-guy on a Wisconsin squad that lost four starters and is quite inexperienced overall, and he's been contributing across the stat sheet to provide a high fantasy ceiling.

Values

Darin Green, Jr., G, UCF ($5,500 DK, $6,000 FD)

Green provides a safe floor, having reached double figures in all five games this season including a pair of games with five threes made -- most recently against a solid Oklahoma defense. He's accounting for 30 percent of the team's shots when he's on the floor, which is the fifth highest of anyone on tonight's slate. Green has been lights out from deep, where he's shooting 49 percent, an area Auburn has struggled to defend -- ranking 273rd in opponent 3-point percentage.

Dre Davis, G/F, Louisville ($3,700 DK, $5,000 FD)

With the soft DraftKings pricing on a lot of players early in the season, there are some safer options in the sub 5k range, but Davis should have a fairly low roster percentage in GPPs and allows you pay up for multiple $8k+ players. It's pretty rare to find someone under $4,000 that's a starter and leads their team in usage rate, but that's what we have here. Davis should have plenty of rebounding opportunities against a Michigan State team that has struggled offensively thus far.
