Out for season
Lyles will miss the 2022 season due to a knee injury he recently suffered in practice, Brendan Sonnone of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lyles was set to play his first season for Florida State this fall after transferring from Wisconsin, but he'll end up missing the entirety of what would have been his sixth and final year of college football. Due to the injury coupled with the affect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the 2020 campaign, Lyles could petition the NCAA for a seventh season of eligibility in 2022, but it's unclear if he plans on going that route. Lyles was expected to battle Maurice Smith for the starting center position heading into the Aug. 27 opener versus FCS Duquesne.
