Head should have an opportunity to compete for the starting job, which seems to be up in the air, in his first with the Mean Green. The transfer started two of his final four games with Louisiana Tech last season, completing 54.9 percent of his passes for five touchdowns and three interceptions. North Texas bounced back and forth between Austin Aune and Jace Ruder at quarterback for much of the 2021 season and both should come back to compete with Head as well as Abilene Christian transfer Stone Earle this spring.
