Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Player X vs. Player Y?" without any other mitigating factors. Of course, I welcome debate - if you think I'm wrong, let me know. But please check out the rankings first before asking your start/sit question. This truly reflects my opinion in my leagues.

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning. I will post at the top of the article in bold font when ranking updates are in progress and when they're complete.

1.	*Patrick Mahomes KC vs. DAL Note: Did the Chiefs 'just figure it out' or was this just as much a function of the Raiders giving him plenty of choices underneath? Big matchup this week against the Cowboys' secondary.

5.	Aaron Rodgers GB at MIN Note: Rodgers sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday but said that he'll definitely play Sunday against the Vikings. Cleared from the injury list after a limited practice Friday. Rodgers will likely deal with that toe injury for the rest of the season.*

Roethlisberger was officially activated from the COVID-IR on Saturday and should start.*
21.	Trevor Siemian NO at PHI Note: The Saints have committed to Siemian making a third consecutive starter.*

23.	Baker Mayfield CLE vs. DET Note: Mayfield left last week's loss to the Patriots with a right knee injury but the Browns are optimistic that he can play. Practice will tell the story on his availability this week. Sat out practice Wednesday and said that he's as banged up as ever, but had a limited practice Thursday. Coach Kevin Stefanski expressed optimism that Mayfield can play. Mayfield has officially been cleared to start.*

25.	*Trevor Lawrence JAC vs. SF Note: Lawrence isn't dealing with a complete set of offensive options, but he's also not appearing to make any progress this season.

27.	Joe Flacco NYJ vs. MIA Note: Flacco will get the start this week over Mike White and Zach Wilson.*
28.	Tyler Huntley BAL at CHI Note: Huntley is next in line to start in case Lamar Jackson (illness) can't go on Sunday. JACKSON OUT, HUNTLEY WILL START.*
29.	Colt McCoy ARZ at SEA Note: McCoy left last week's loss to the Panthers with a pectoral strain, but the presumption is that he'll be able to return next week if Kyler Murray is unable to go. McCoy was limited at practice Wednesday, and is 'OK' while Murray is 'gotten better every day.' ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that McCoy should start this week again.*
30.	Tim Boyle DET at CLE Note: Boyle is expected to start in place of Jared Goff this week.*
31.	Jared Goff DET at CLE Note: Goff suffered an oblique injury in the first quarter of the Lions' tie with the Steelers but played through it. Goff missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. The Lions have been using Tim Boyle, who is still on IR with a thumb injury, as the QB getting the first-team reps ahead of backup David Blough. Goff is officially listed as doubtful, but ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that he won't play.*
32.	Taysom Hill NO at PHI Note: Hill (foot) sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday. Returned to a limited practice Friday and is listed as questionable.*
33.	Kyler Murray ARZ at SEA Note: Murray (ankle) was able to get in a limited practice Friday last week, but still sat out a second game in a row and isn't guaranteed to return this week. Limited practice Wednesday but is 'getting better every day.' The Cardinals won't make an official decision until after pregame warmups, but it looks as if McCoy and not Murray will start.*
34.	Lamar Jackson BAL at CHI Note: Sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday with an illness. Jackson was taken off the injury list Friday, but then added back as questionable on Saturday. He's a 50-50 call for Sunday, with Tyler Huntley waiting as the backup. RULED OUT FOR SUNDAY.*
35.	Mason Rudolph PIT at LAC Note: Tired of the Steelers' short passing game under Big Ben? Wait until you get a look at Mason Rudolph! He averaged 4.8 yards per attempt against the Lions. Roethlisberger was officially activated from the COVID-IR on Saturday.*

Meanwhile, Devontae Booker might be out with a hip injury. Barkley was officially limited in Thursday's practice. Barkley practiced all week, and is listed as questionable.*
16.	James Robinson JAC vs. SF Note: Robinson (heel/knee) sat out practice Wednesday, but was limited on Thursday. Robinson was limited again on Friday and is listed as questionable, but is expected to play.*

18.	Mark Ingram NO at PHI Note: Starting again this week, with Alvin Kamara out. He'll probably cede some carries to Tony Jones, who is coming off IR this week.*

20.	Darrel Williams KC vs. DAL Note: Williams had a big game Sunday night, but CEH is likely to return this week. Edwards-Helaire's status seems murkier than it was earlier in the week. Edwards-Helaire is listed as questionable but expected to play - how will they apportion carries?*
21.	Damien Harris NE at ATL Note: Harris (concussion) returned to a limited practice Tuesday in advance of Thursday's game. I expect that he'll be able play this week. Harris has been cleared from the injury list in time for Thursday's game.*
22.	Jeff Wilson SF at JAX Note: Wilson took over the backup role Monday night, but only with middling results - 10 carries for 28 yards. He could start this week, however, if Eli Mitchell's finger injury is significant enough. Likely to start with Eli Mitchell listed as doubtful. Trey Sermon is the backup.*

24.	Miles Sanders PHI vs. NO Note: Sanders (ankle) has been designated to return from the IR, which clears him to practice. Sanders has been activated from IR and it appears that he'll play this week - will he get starter's carries in his first game back?*

Reid on Wednesday said that he's uncertain whether CEH will return - it will depend upon his practice this week, with the Chiefs on bye next week.
