2024 Fantasy Outlook
Hickok posted a fairly similar season to 2022 this year, playing two more events while finishing with the same amount of top-25 finishes. He was .1 percent off his cuts-made percentage from a year ago. This seems to be who Hickok is, an average player on tour who struggles in approach play and putting while playing slightly above average off the tee. Those looking for upside should probably look elsewhere. Read Past Outlooks
First cut made since September
February 20, 2023
Hickok carded a one-under 70 on Sunday at The Genesis Invitational to finish four-under and tied for 29th.
ANALYSIS
Hickok played his final nine holes of the tournament in bogey-free fashion en route to a three-under 33 on the back nine Sunday, ranking top-15 among the field in both SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Around-the-Green in Round 4. He finished the tournament T5 in GIR percentage at Riviera CC, and this marked Hickok's first made cut since the season-opening Fortinet Championship in September. He'll attempt to ride the momentum into this week's Honda Classic where he's placed T30 or better in two of three appearances.

Of players ranked 100-150 on the money list, Hickok played the most events (31) in 2022. From a fantasy standpoint, one can look at that multiple ways. Based on sheer volume, he is a decent bet to maintain a similar workload and should have plenty of opportunities to compete. On a per-tournament basis, however, he is rather inefficient. For those considering him in survivor leagues, he typically survives about half of his cuts in a given season.
Many fell in love with Hickok after his epic playoff duel with Harris English at the Travelers Championship. English would ultimately prevail, however, and Hickok would settle for one of his six top-25s of the season. If he is to take the next step heading into his 30s, Hickok needs to improve his iron play and putting, both of which ranked outside the top 145 on tour.
Hickok tallied only seven total made cuts throughout his 2019-20 campaign, though he put up back-to-back top-25 performances at the Houston Open and Bermuda Championship during the fall series to avoid complete disaster in an otherwise disappointing sophomore effort. He posted zero top-50 results from the Charles Schwab Challenge through the Wyndham Championship, though Hickok ended the season top-20 in driving accuracy and 44th in SG: Around-the-Green.
After consecutive missed cuts at the Barracuda and Wyndham Championship left Hickok on the outside of the top-150 in the FedEx Cup standings through the end of the 2018-19 PGA Tour season, he quickly rebounded by going T19-T5-3 during the Korn Ferry Tour Finals to retain his card. Hickok owns just one top-10 in 30 career starts, but he ranked top-40 in both SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Around-the-Green this past season, ultimately making the cut in half of his 26 performances.
Hickok won the Web.com Tour's DAP Championship in early September during the Finals after finishing 23rd on the regular season money list, having also notched two top-three results and nine top-25s. With four career starts to his name on the PGA Tour, Hickok impressively finished top-20 at the 2017 RBC Canadian Open. He also won two events on the Canadian Tour that same year, so he's ascended to top-150 status in the Official World Golf Ranking.
