Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely starter
Skinner is in the starter's crease at morning skate, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV, likely putting him on track to guard the home goal versus San Jose on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Skinner was pretty sharp in his last start Monday against San Jose, stopping 24 of 26 shots, but he was still stuck with a loss due to insufficient goal support from his teammates. Assuming he gets the nod Monday, he'll try to return to the win column in a highly favorable home matchup with a Sharks team that's a disastrous 8-27-4 on the road this year.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
There's a real case to be made that Skinner was Edmonton's best goaltender a season ago, but the team still refused to give him an extended run as the No. 1 option, instead preferring to rely on veterans Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen. Skinner played in 13 games for the Oilers in 2021-22, posting a mediocre 6-6-0 record and a solid 2.62 GAA and .913 save percentage. Koskinen is gone and Smith is injured and unlikely to ever play again, but Edmonton signed Jack Campbell to a lucrative deal in free agency in July to serve as the team's starter. Skinner is penciled in as the backup, leaving him with little to no fantasy appeal.
