Tanner Jeannot

Tanner Jeannot

26-Year-Old Left WingLW
Tampa Bay Lightning
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Infamously traded for Nashville to Tampa Bay in late February for five draft picks including a 2025 first-rounder, Jeannot appeared in 20 games with his new club (one goal, four points) before suffering a leg injury in an early-April game against the Islanders. He made it back for three playoff contests before shutting it down for good. Jeannot scored 24 goals in 81 games for the Predators two seasons ago but that was due to an outlandish 19.4 shooting percentage. Fully healthy, expect Jeannot to improve on the six goals and 18 points in 76 games we got from him in 2022-23, but his fantasy value remains limited to those leagues which value hits, as Jeannot has 608 of them in his last 157 regular-season games. Returns to lineup
LWTampa Bay Lightning

Jeannot played 16:28 of ice time in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
After missing the last two games with an upper-body injury, Jeannot returned to his regular spot on the fourth line centered by Luke Glendening. Jeannot finished with three shots on net and an even rating in 16:28 of ice time. With only 13 points on the year, the 26-year old winger is hard to trust as a point producer in fantasy.

Closing in on two-year extension
LWTampa Bay Lightning
July 15, 2023
Jeannot is nearing a two-year contract extension with the Lightning, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
ANALYSIS
Jeannot missed the final two playoff games versus Toronto with an ankle injury after the Lightning gave up Cal Foote and five draft picks, including a 2025 first-round pick, to acquire him from Nashville in February. The feisty winger finished the season with six goals, 12 assists, 107 PIM and 290 hits in 76 contests. He had an outstanding rookie campaign with the Predators in 2021-22, scoring 24 times while adding 17 assists in 81 regular-season games. Jeannot also had 130 PIM and 318 hits in his breakout campaign. Expect to see Jeannot in a middle-six forward role next season.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
An undrafted free agent, Jeannot earned a full-time role in the Nashville lineup a season ago and was an immediate impact contributor for the club. He finished with 24 goals and 41 points in 81 games, in addition to 318 hits, good for second in the league behind Florida's Radko Gudas. Jeannot seems like a prime regression candidate in the goal scoring department considering his shooting percentage last season was an unsustainable 19.4 percent, but the hits are here to stay and even a dozen goals with that type of hit volume makes Jeannot a solid fantasy option in leagues which value physicality.
