Drops decision in Vegas
Morales lost to Jonathan Martinez via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Morales found himself in a tough spot going up against a legitimately talented opponent. He entered as the second-largest underdog on the card at +225 and predictably struggled. Morales picked up a handful of knockout victories on the regional circuit prior to his UFC arrival, but he's struggled to generate consistent offense since joining the company, and he was never going to outpoint Martinez over the course of 15 minutes. Morales landed just 33 percent of his significant strikes (51/153) and that obviously wasn't going to get the job done. Morales should be in decent shape moving forward considering he entered this bout on the strength of back-to-back victories, but the 31-year-old Idaho native would do well to get right back in the win column his next time out.

Set to fight Jonathan Martinez
Morales (11-5-0) is scheduled to face Jonathan Martinez (15-4-0) in a bantamweight bout set for May 21 at the UFC's event in Las Vegas, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Morales will carry a two-fight winning streak into the May 21 matchup with Martinez after earning convincing victories over Drako Rodriguez and Louis Smolka to close out 2021. "Vandetta" was initially scheduled to make his 2022 debut March 19 against Nathaniel Wood, but the fight was later cancelled.

Added to March 19 card
Morales (11-5-0) is scheduled to face Nathaniel Wood (17-5-0) in a bantamweight bout set for March 19 at the UFC's event in London, freelance MMA writer Al Zullino reports.
ANALYSIS
"Vandetta" was a late addition to the card two weeks before the event, stepping in as a replacement for Liudvik Sholinian (9-2-1), a native of Ukraine who is unable to travel to London due to the ongoing conflict in his home country. Morales has put together a 3-3-0 record since making his UFC debut in November 2018
