Dominates Leah Letson in Vegas
Spencer defeated Leah Letson via TKO (punches) at 4:25 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Spencer had shown very little explosiveness over the course of her first five UFC bouts, but that didn't stop her from blowing Letson out of the water in what was her most complete effort to date. Going up against a clearly inferior opponent, Spencer made a point to control Letson at the point of attack the entire fight. She was credited with 227 total strikes landed, four successful takedowns and 11:58 worth of control time in a fight that lasted a little over 14 minutes. They are truly laughable numbers and highlight just how dominant Spencer was. Spencer is in a tough spot -- she has some talent, but the UFC's 145-pound female division is a disaster, and there are very few fights that make sense in general, let alone for Spencer.

Spencer will take on Leah Letson in a featherweight bout at the UFC event Nov. 13, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.

Although she picked up plenty of stoppages (mostly submissions) in her Invicta days, Spencer doesn't really have the requisite skill set to generate a ton of offense in a short amount of time. She will have difficultly making up ground should she fall behind early on the judges scorecards. Spencer has lost three of her last four fights dating back to July 2019, although two of those defeats came against Amanda Nunes and Cris Cyborg. So if we toss those aside, she's 1-1 in fights in which she had an actual chance of winning.
