A strange road to fight night ended in disaster for Baeza. He was originally scheduled to face Dhiego Lima here before Lima decided to retire this past February. Baeza looked fine for the majority of Round 1 before one Fialho uppercut and a few follow-up strikes forced referee Mark Smith to step in. Baeza was furious with the stoppage, which is understandable considering this was his third straight defeat dating back to June of last year, and it's highly unlikely he get a fourth opportunity with the company. Just ten months go Baeza was sporting a perfect 3-0 record in the UFC. Times change fast in this sport.

Fortunately for Baeza, the announcement leaves plenty of time for the UFC to find "Caramel Thunder" a new opponent if he wishes to remain on the fight card.
