Facing Blindado at UFC 269
MiddleweightUFC
November 3, 2021
Wright will fight Bruno Silva in a middleweight bout at UFC 269 on Dec. 11, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Wright came down with an illness and had his bout with Julian Marquez called off in mid-October, so he hasn't been in the Octagon since taking down Jamie Pickett with a 64-second TKO at UFC 262 in May. Silva made his UFC debut over the summer and has KO and TKO victories over Wellington Turman and Andrew Sanchez, respectively, in his first two fights in the promotion.

Fight called off
MiddleweightUFC
October 15, 2021
Wright's scheduled fight against Julian Marquez was called off Friday after Wright came down with an illness, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Marquez isn't dealing with COVID-19 but won't be in fighting shape. With his withdrawal coming just one day before the day of the fight, there's no time for an opponent to be found for Wright, so he'll have to be left off the card.

Wright is set to fight Julian Marquez (hand) on October 16, according to Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Wright recorded a 64-second KO victory over Jamie Pickett in his previous fight in mid-May. "The Beverly Hills Ninja" has gone victorious in three of his first four UFC bouts.
64-second knockout victory
MiddleweightUFC
May 15, 2021
Wright defeated Jamie Pickett via TKO (punches) at 1:04 of Round 1 at UFC 262 on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
It was a stellar effort from Wright and one that was made all that impressive by the fact he was coming off his first professional loss, a knockout at the hands of Joaquin Buckley last November. With Pickett quickly pushing forward and tying Wright up along the fence, Wright proceed to connect with countless, unanswered elbows to the side of Pickett's head. Pickett somehow survived that immediate flurry, but Wright finished him off just moments later. "The Beverly Hills Ninja" has now emerged victorious in three of his first four UFC bouts.
Scheduled for May fight
MiddleweightUFC
March 8, 2021
Wright will fight Jamie Pickett in a middleweight bout at UFC 262 on May 15, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wright is looking to get back on track after losing via KO to Joaquin Buckley in November. Pickett is entering the Octagon with a similar mission, as he lost his UFC debut via unanimous decision to Tafon Nchukwi in December. Wright and Pickett both line up at 6-foot-2, but Pickett has a three-inch advantage in reach at 80 inches.
Smashed by Joaquin Buckley
MiddleweightUFC
November 21, 2020
Wright lost to Joaquin Buckley via KO (punches) at 0:18 of Round 2 at UFC 255 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Wright had no chance against one of the hardest hitters the middleweight division has seen in quite some time. The 29-year-old California native hung around for about a round before Buckley began to connect with everything but the kitchen sink late in the first frame. Referee Herb Dean would have been well within his rights to stop the fight and Wright's corner probably never sent him out for Round 2. It was over moments later. Wright knocked out Ike Villanueva in 91 seconds in his company debut this past August but there doesn't appear to be a ton to get excited about here.
