Can't defend takedown in loss
BantamweightUFC
December 17, 2022
Vlismas lost to Cory McKenna via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Not good. Vlismas was fine whenever the two women were standing on the feet and trading strikes, but it's difficult to win a three-round decision when you spent upwards of ten minutes (9:41) being controlled on the mat. McKenna is extremely undersized, and it was abundantly clear her only path to victory was to grapple, making Vlismas' inability to remain upright all the more disappointing. The fact she entered as a -180 favorite doesn't help matters, either. A product of Dana White's Contender Series, the 27-year-old Vlimas sees her record drop to 2-2 in her first four UFC bouts.

ANALYSIS
Vlismas announced in her post that she's been rescheduled to fight again in December, though it's unclear if she'll be taking on Ricci or another opponent. The 27-year-old Vlismas owns a 7-2-0 career MMA record and is 2-1-0 since debuting with the UFC in March 2021.
Taking on Ricci October 1
BantamweightUFC
June 7, 2022
Vlismas will fight Tabatha Ricci in a bantamweight fight at a UFC event on October 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Vlismas will need every bit of her 73% takedown defense in October, taking on Tabatha Ricci, who attempts 3.95 takedown attempts per 15 minutes. Both fighters enter having won two consecutive fights after losing their UFC debuts. Vlismas averages 5.83 significant strikes per minute, compared to Ricci, who only lands 2.95 per minute. Keeping the fight off the ground will be Vlismas' top priority, as Ricci only defends on 58% of significant strikes.
High volume earns $50k

Vlismas defeated Mallory Martin via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 44 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The artist formerly known as Cheyanne Buys, Vlismas took this fight on short notice just weeks after overcoming a serious battle with COVID-19, and she ended up putting forth one of her best performances to date. She won the significant striking tally in all three rounds, setting a new career high with 134 and bringing up her career average to 5.83 per minute. Vlismas, who had been taken down five times in previous two fights, also stuffed all five of Martin's attempts here. Furthermore, she has the durability of Martin to thank, as Martin was able to eat her shots and fire back, ultimately leading to both women getting $50,000 Fight of the Night bonuses. The durability, volume and willing to fight on short notice will all help the stock of Vlismas moving forward.
