The UFC indicated there is an injury for one of the fighters, and the short notice makes it virtually impossible to book a replacement. It's unclear when Motta will be able to get back in the octagon.

Gets new opponent

Motta will now fight fellow UFC newcomer Cameron VanCamp in a lightweight matchup at UFC Vegas 37 on Saturday, Alexander K. Lee of reports.
It's been a long road to get to Motta's official debut since earning a contract via Dana White's Contender Series last November. He was originally forced to withdraw from a spring matchup against Damir Hadzovic due to injury, but was rescheduled against Jim Miller this summer. With Miller withdrawing as well, the UFC had to act quickly to find an opponent for the 28-year-old product of Cage Fury Fighting Championship. Early oddsmakers peg him as approximately a (-310) favorite for his company debut.
Upcoming fight in doubt

Motta's upcoming fight scheduled for the UFC event Sept. 18 is in doubt after his opponent, Jim Miller, announced Friday he tested positive for COVID-19 and has to withdraw, Aaron Bronsteter of reports.
Motta was supposed to make his UFC debut back in May but his opponent suffered an injury and withdrew. Now his upcoming match next Saturday is in question if the UFC is unable to find him a replacement fighter. If the fight is scrapped, Motta will likely be moved to a different card and could still face Miller once he's recovered.
UFC debut set for September

Motta will take on Jim Miller in a lightweight bout at the UFC event Sept. 18, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
Motta will be making his UFC debut against a very experienced fighter in Miller. Motta was supposed to debut with the promotion back in May, but had to pull out due to injury. His career MMA record sits at 12-3-0.

Motta has an undisclosed injury and won't face Damir Hadzovic as previously scheduled at UFC's May 8 event, Farrah Hannoun of USA Today reports.
Motta was poised to make his UFC debut next month, and it's unclear how long he's expected to be sidelined by the injury. Yancy Medeiros will step in to face Hadzovic in Motta's absence.

Motta will fight Damir Hadzovic at the UFC's May 8 event, MMADNA.nlreports.
Motta will make his UFC debut in this battle, as the lightweight was awarded an official UFC contract after defeating Joseph Lowry via unanimous decision on Nov. 10, 2020. On the other hand, Hadzovic will be entering the fight having most recently lost to Renato Moicano via submission at UFC Fight Night in Brazil on March 14, 2020.
