Filling in for Kazama
Anheliger will fight Charalampos Grigoriou at UFC Vegas 88 on March 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Anheliger has lost two straight fights since winning his UFC debut. He'll have a chance to get back in the win column against the newcomer Grigoriou, although Anheliger will be at a significant 12.5-inch reach disadvantage.

Taps out to Jose Johnson
Anheliger lost to Jose Johnson via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:49 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Anheliger was down two rounds on all three scorecards, so he was going to drop a unanimous decision if he didn't tap out with 11 seconds remaining. Chad was simply giving up too much size to Johnson to make any headway on the feet. He did manage to connect on 4-of-8 takedowns for 6:18 worth of control time, but it was seemingly always Johnson who ended up in the more dominant position on the mat. A couple weeks shy of his 37th birthday and with no history of defeating better competition, Anheliger -- who has lost two straight -- will almost certainly be fighting for his job his next time out.

Booked for UFC Vegas 82
Anheliger is slated to take on Jose Johnson at UFC Vegas 82 on Nov. 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Anheliger is looking to bounce back from his loss to Heili Alateng at UFC 279 last September. The defeat was his first with the company leaving him at 1-1 overall. His opponent, Johnson, is looking for his first win with the company and coming off a loss to Da'Mon Blackshear.

Suffers first UFC defeat
Anheliger lost to Heili Alateng via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 279 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It might not seem like much, but Anheliger deserves credit for simply surviving the first round, let alone seeing the final bell. Although he was never knocked down at any point, Chad ate about a half-dozen shots in the opening frame which would have put away any mere mortal. Anheliger actually improved as the bout progressed, but it wasn't enough for him to steal a round, let alone win the fight. A product of Dana White's Contender Series, the soon-to-be 36-year-old Canadian drops to 1-1 in his first couple UFC bouts.
