Released by UFC

March 1, 2023
Till (knee) was removed from the UFC roster Tuesday, Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Till indicated he requested his release -- which the promotion obviously granted -- though he also said he's "not going anywhere" and will "be back." It's unclear if those plans are with the UFC, but for now he'll continue to recover from the torn ACL he suffered during his loss to Dricus Du Plessis in December. That defeat was Till's third straight and fifth in his past six bouts.

Suffers injury in loss

December 10, 2022
Till said he believes he suffered a torn ACL during Saturday's fight against Dricus Du Plessis, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It is unclear at what point in Saturday's bout did Till suffer his injury. The 30-year-old fighter will likely have a long rehab ahead of him after losing his fifth fight in his past six contests.
Falls to 1-5 in past six fights

December 10, 2022
Till lost to Dricus Du Plessis via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:43 of Round 3 at UFC 282 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a strange fight, and one that may very easily result in the end of Till's time with the company. The final result and how it went down was quite ugly, but Till actually deserves credit for lasting as long as he did. Darren was pressed up against the cage seconds after the opening bell rang and stayed there for nearly the entire frame, eating countless strikes to the side of the head from Du Plesiss. He survived the frame and actually appeared to be pulling ahead in Round 2 before being taken down halfway through the final frame and immediately tapping out the second Dricus clamped on the rear-naked choke. A loser of three straight and sporting a 1-5 record dating back to September 2018, Till, set to turn 30 years of age on Christmas Eve, appears to be just about out of time. On the bright side, he'll take home an extra $50,000 after this matchup was given Fight of the Night honors.
To return at UFC 282
MiddleweightOther
September 6, 2022
Till (undisclosed) has agreed to return in a middleweight matchup against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282 on Dec. 10, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Till has been facing elite fighters in the welterweight and middleweight divisions for the recent part of his UFC run, he's still just 1-4 in his past five bouts and has dealt with multiple injuries and cancellations of late. Now seemingly healthy and with a new UFC contract despite his recent results, Till will look to get back on track against a dangerous knockout artist who has started his UFC run with three consecutive victories. Till will be giving up slight height and reach advantages to Du Plessis, and is statistically a lower-volume striker with less offensive wrestling in his arsenal. Still, it's a slight step back from the run of highly-ranked opponents he's seen of late.

Facing Jack Hermansson
MiddleweightOther
April 30, 2022
Till will take on Jack Hermansson in London on July 23, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The pair have been matched against each other before, but their scheduled December 2020 fight fell through due to an injury for Till. Neither fighter has had much luck lately, as Till has won just one of his last five fights while Hermansson has won just two of his last five.
