Finishes with 9.0 sacks
Gary recorded 44 tackles (23 solo), 9.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two pass deflections over 17 regular-season games in 2023.
ANALYSIS
Gary appeared well on his way to reaching double digits in the sack department for the first time, but he did not make a mark in that column after Week 13. He still managed to appear in every game on the schedule after seeing his 2022 campaign cut short by a torn ACL, and he will have a normal offseason heading into the 2024 campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Making case for extension
Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Gary could be in line for an extension this season after returning in Week 1 from a torn ACL injury suffered in November.
ANALYSIS
Gary returned to the field for the first time since Week 9 of the 2022 season. He played in just 12 snaps against the Bears in Week 1 and didn't register a tackle; however, he did have three pressures on seven pass rush attempts. Gary noted earlier in the week that he's open to waiting for an extension at the conclusion of the 2023 season and said that 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was "blessed" to receive his five-year, $170 million contract extension Sept. 6. Demovsky notes that while Gray is unlikely to get the same kind of deal Bosa received, he could earn an extension close to that amount should he stay healthy and produce at a similar level to his 2021 campaign, when he recorded 47 tackles, 9.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 16 games.

Gary was primed to reach double digits in the sack department after stacking up six of them during the first six games of the 2022 season, but a torn ACL in Week 9 cut short that pursuit and his campaign altogether. The Packers haven't released an official statement on Gary's recovery since placing him on injured reserve, so it's unclear exactly where he stands in his rehab. He may miss the start of the season, though, which would leave the team without its top pass rusher until he returns.
